Message from the Firm's Head Lawyer

I founded Miyoshi & Associates Law Firm in the 4-Chome area of Ginza in 1978. Since then we have offered our services to a wide range of clients, from major corporations and medium-sized companies to small businesses and individuals.

The Firm is run with a policy of providing the best possible legal services-services that cover corporate law, general civil law, family law, and more-in a prompt manner and with careful attention to detail in a manner that meets clients’ circumstances and needs. We deal with our clients in a way that prioritizes trust and a reputation for reliability through regular and attentive contact, offering them legal services that maximize their benefits.

Regarding corporate law in particular, chiefly in our capacity as legal advisers to companies, we have handled cases involving compliance, internal corporate controls, legal affairs involving management for general shareholder meetings, M&A projects, joint ventures, franchises, licensing, legal affairs involving corporate strategies for retail outlets, contract drafting, preventative legal checks, claims for compensatory damages, negotiations and suits for debt recovery, and many others. Privacy Policy

Miyoshi & Attorney Law Firm (hereinafter referred to as the “Law Firm”) establishes the following privacy policy regarding the handling of personal information at the Law Firm, and will comply with the Privacy Policy, the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan (Law No. 57 of 2003) and other related laws and regulations, and endeavor to protect personal information.

1 Personal Information and Personal Data
For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, the term “personal information” means information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual and that contains an individual identification code. The term “personal data” means personal information constituting a personal information database, etc. (meaning a collective body of information comprised of personal information that is systematically organized to be able to easily search for particular personal information).
2 Acquisition of Personal Information
The Law Firm will acquire personal information by fair means.
3 Purpose of Use of Personal Information
The Law Firm will use the acquired personal information for the following purposes and will not use the same for any other purpose without the consent of the individual to whom such personal information pertains, except where pursuant to the provisions of laws and regulations:
  1. The performance of legal services;
  2. The provision of legal information, etc., information about lectures, etc., the sending of letters of greeting, etc., from the Law Firm (and lawyers belonging to the Law Firm);
  3. The recruiting activities of lawyers and clerical staff, etc., of the Law Firm; and
  4. The appropriate and smooth performance of other services of the Law Firm.

The Law Firm will not provide personal information to any third party without the prior consent of the individual to whom such personal information pertains, except where there is a justifiable reason, such as pursuant to the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws and regulations.
5 Management of Personal Data
The Law Firm will take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss or damage of personal information. The Law Firm will also exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over the lawyers and clerical staff who belong to the Law Firm to ensure the secure management of personal information. In the case of outsourcing the handling of personal data, the Law Firm will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over the contractor.
6 Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use and Deletion of Retained Personal Data
If the Law Firm receives a request for the disclosure, correction, suspension of use, deletion, etc., of the personal data retained by the Law Firm from the individual to whom such personal data pertains, the Law Firm will take actions in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws and regulations promptly after confirming that the person who has made such request is the individual to whom such personal data pertains or is such individual’s representative.
7 Inquiries about Handling of Personal Information

8 Modification of Privacy Policy
The Law Firm may modify the Privacy Policy, as necessary. If any modifications are made, the modified Privacy Policy will be posted on this website.
